Growing up, Mahmoud was fond of photography and was recommended to Dar al-Kalima University due to its professional filmmaking courses when he was of age. He's passionate about films and was excited when he made his own film through the seminar project during the Diploma graduation.
When asked how he felt about DAK, he answered, "Dar al-Kalima University became my second home. Each student gets a full education because the teachers focus on each and every one of us. The teachers and staff are always available to help and lead us."
"We're led to discover more about ourselves and make passion a tool that enhances us to enable us to use it as a positive expression. In our country, there are negative stereotypes about Palestinians that need to be changed. I feel it's my mission to change this stereotype. I want to show our challenging lives and how we survive them. Creative resistance is a path that I found at DAK, and I'm eager to pursue it by making more films. My dream is to become a famous Palestinian Filmmaker. To keep telling the world our story, especially the social problems, in hopes that someday my films will make a positive impact in our community."
Today Mahmoud is writing a scenario for a feature film, based on a true story about his own village.
